The name on the front door may have changed over the years but the union has remained constant in the life of our many owners . The International Wooodworkers of America in 1956 , next we became a national union forming IWA Canada our name then subsequintly changed to Industrial ,Wood and Allied Workers of Canada to reflect our diversity . On September Ist 2004 we merged with The United Steelworkers of America That name was changed to:
